Nashik: The Nashik-based Bengali community has decided to celebrate Durga Puja in a limited way by respecting Covid-related safety norms announced by the state government.
Organizers of events throughout the city of Nashik have decided to keep the exactly low events even though they will ensure the Puja tradition is done without rest.
Gandhinagar Sarbojanin expected Puja Trust, celebrating the event for the 68th year this time, has asked all its members to offer restraints and celebrate a simple festival.
“Because covid restrictions on, we have reduced the size of Goddess Durga Idol from 20 feet to four feet according to government orders.
Idol has been installed in a club house where all rituals will be carried out,” Sujih Gupta, President Nashik Sarbojanin Durga Puja Trust, Said.
The organizers have also made arrangements that will ensure no more than 20 people are permitted to pushpanjali.
“All programs will be held by respecting Covid norms,” Gupta said.
Parishad Nashik Bangya in Pandav Leni also allows a limited number of people to attend the celebration.
“Most family affairs.
We have not invited one of the guests this year and have instructed all members to remain on Covid norms,” said a member of the Subrate Banerjee, a member of the Association.
