Nashik: Green buildings that produce zero waste tend to get 1% rebates in property taxes from the next book.
Kota Kailas Jadhav’s Commissioner told TI that the residential community treating waste through compost or biogas plants would get a discount.
“If the building established a compost factory to treat waste, it would reduce the burden of garbage collection in civilian bodies.
Compost made of garbage will be used in parks, nurseries, and garden terraces,” he said.
The proposal in this case will soon be submitted in the General Body Meeting of Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) for approval.
At present, the Civic body conducts a collection of household waste from the door to the entire city using the van of their garbage collection.
A NMC official said they had provided 1% rebates in property taxes to those who use solar water heaters.
NMC is currently collecting 600 metric tons of garbage per day and transport it to Pathardi Plant on the outskirts of the city through 262 vans of garbage collection.
“We want to reduce the burden at the Pathardi factory.
If the housing community starts treating solid and wet waste in their own place, it will reduce the burden of collecting and transporting waste in the body of Nashik Civic to most,” the official said.
Nashik City was divided into six divisions – Nashik East, Nashik West, Panchavati, Nashik Road, Satpur and CidCo.
The contract from the existing garbage collection contractor ended on December 202 and to avoid discomfort for the residents of the extension had been given to them until March.
Civil administration has been in the process of appointing a new contractor and the tender process in the final stage.
