Pune: National Defense Academy has redrawed its training program to ensure the Covid-19 safety protocol followed on its campus.
Every morning, just one third of the 2,000 cadets who have breakfast together in chaos here.
The rest of the cadets patiently waited their turn.
This is part of the NDA strategy to prevent crowding between cadets and comply with social blasphemy norms on campus.
The process is repeated for lunch and dinner.
“We divide the cadet into a collection of a third.
At certain times only one third of the cadets do their respective activities.
Only a third of the cadet go to eat in chaos.
They spend food and stepping out.
In the next 15 minutes, the staff cleaned chairs and tables.
Then the next batch is permitted, “LT Gen of Asit Mistry, Commander, NDA, to TII.
“Our top priority is the safety of 2,000 plus cadets.
They live in a communication environment.
Like a large extended family.
If there are cases between cadets, the lateral deploy between them will be like fire.
Thus, we must develop a mechanism for each activity for Continuing training and solving it in the specified time, “added Mistry.
Public Officers said that during the first wave of pandemic last year, and all activities had to be stopped completely for several weeks.
“We do not have a standard operating procedure to be followed.
Gradually, over time, we learn and come with a formula to handle the situation.
We managed to implement it.
Therefore, we can send cadets to each training academy for further training,” Mistry said.
“The IT infrastructure of the academy, and the supply of a thin client (virtual desktop computing model) 24×7 in each cabin is included in the maximum utilization for online training,” said Deputy Commander Rear Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan.
Afternoon and evening, which was previously allowed to be free for squadron activities, now quantified and the period was allocated for academics and service classes for the resolution of the syllabus, officials said.
“When the limit subsides, the hybrid training model is adopted with online class contacts and parts of the class.
To ensure social distance, each class of around 30 cadets is divided into two, with one part attending the contact class (one cadet on the bench), others study online the same, “added officials.
