Mangaluru: A 25-year-old man from Karwar was isolated and treated at the Wenlock Hospital managed by the government in Mangaluru after he complained of fever, and fear he had contracted a nipah virus infection, had tested negatively.
Human samples working in the laboratory that produces RT-PCR and Nipak test kits in Goa have been sent for the Nipah test at the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, after he raised suspicion that he might have contracted a virus.
The district health and family welfare officer Dr.
Kishore Kumar M on Wednesday confirmed that the man was negative for nipah.
