Nagpur: Two contestants in the Akola-Buldhana Washim MLC chair, the Vasant Khandelwal of BJP won the chair, and three times the lost MLC Gopikishan Bajoria, still partnered in several realty business agreements with them before.
More than two years ago, they partitioned most of their joints on land, but some traits were still united.
Both have become partners for the past 18-20 years.
The equation began to change about two years ago and both began to divide the way.
Bajoria tells Toi that they are partners but most of the property, besides some plots, have been sold.
They still have a shared owner.
“However, both politically and separate businesses,” he said.
When both of them began to separate, there was a plan to throw a chance against Bajoria even in the last MLC selection.
However, it cannot be completed until the last moment because there is a possible alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena.
The chair went to Sena Shiv finally, said a source that was closely involved in developments.
“BJP’s leadership this time insisted that Khandelwal fought the election and he agreed,” said the source.

His brother Nitin Khandelwal is also a gold trader and has held director’s position in Gems and Jewelry Board, a trade association.
