Kolkata: The bridge is reconstructed, it is expected to be ready in April.
The State Public Works Department (PWD), the Nodal Project Agency, hopes to start working on launching bridge steel girers from November after receiving permission from the train.
PWD officials said work had been going on and the dock and bridge bridge reconstructed had been arranged.
“The design and image of the steel girder has been completed and cleaned because the work enters its last phase.
This work is expected to be started from November and the application has been submitted to the train for permission,” said a senior PWD official.
Officials say, at present, the bridge fabrication work is ongoing and the bridge must be ready to open around the new year Bengali.
The authorities hold a review meeting before Puja to take stock of work progress and site inspection has occurred at a frequent interval.
“It depends on how fast the launch of the steel gym can begin because this is one of the most important parts of the reconstruction of the bridge,” said a PWD official.
After the girders were repaired on bridge bridges, other small jobs, such as delivering the road below and painted the bridge retaining walls, and other technical work would be left before the bridge could finally be opened for traffic.
The bridge is reconstructed, which will connect Shyambazar with BT Road, will be around 750m long and has a 200 m deck plate that stretches above the railroad tracks.
It is estimated that RS 350 Crore has been pegged as a fee to complete the bridge reconstruction project.
In 2019, the state had decided to dismantle the bridge for 625m before after structural assessment.
