Hassan: Last year, the Tourism Department has added many tourist attractions to the list of entrances entering the district, taking their numbers into 33.
Addition of temples, hill stations, especially trekking purposes by point of view, waterfalls, and parks.
According to sources in the district tourist department, the newly added hill station is in Sakleshpur: Maragunda, Pandavara Betta, Mooru Kannu Gudda, Jenukal Gudda and Patla Betta.
Pandavara Betta is 40 km from the Talk headquarters, and the hill foot has a Bhairaveshwara temple.
Mooru Kannu Betta is 30 km from the center of the Taluk.
Jenukal Gudda, third highest hill in the state, is 40 km from Taluk.
Patla Betta, 35km from Taluk, famous for sunrise perspective.
Moonokanane’s waterfall at Sakleshpur, which has made it for the list, is about 32 km from the center of Taluk and 8km from Bisle Ghat.
Other attractions, Abbi Falls (Magajahalli Falls), is 18 km from the Taluk Center.
In the flow of Taluk, Parvathamma Betta and Magantimma Betta are famous for trekking.
Parvathamma Betta holds a temple.
Recently, some criminals have damaged the temple to look for treasure.
Konanur Hanging Bridge, 5 km from Ramanathapur in Arkalgud Taluk, also added to the list.
The bridge has been built across the Cauvery River to facilitate the movement of people between Konok to Kattepura Village.
The Shettihalli Church in Hassan Taluk has made it on the list, and so is the Yagachi Backwaters in Belur Taluk (known for water sports), and Hulikere Pushkarni (from the Hoysala period) in Halebidu.
Destinations from Arasikere Taluk include Mahatma Gandhi Memorial and Nagapuri Fortress.
Deputy Director of the Sanjay Tourism Department said the new tourist spot was not added this year because they did not receive related guidelines from the state government.
“Identifying and selecting new spots depends on getting permission, accessibility, and convenience to reach the place.
We will release funds for infrastructure.
But maintenance must be carried out by the regional government,” he said.
