Sindri: Acting on the basis of CCTV footage, the police have found a newborn stolen from Snmmch, Dhanbad on Tuesday afternoon, police said on Thursday.
Police Saraidhela found a newborn baby from Barwadih Barwadih Bangla Rope Hari Mandir in Rajajan under the police station Rajanj Regency on Wednesday night.
The two women involved in the crime were identified as Kajal Devi and his mother Teziya Devi.
Both were arrested and ordered for kidnapping.
Speaking with Toi, Inspector Responsible for the Saraidhela Police Station, Kishore Tirkey, said the police team, under the leadership of ASP (Law and order) Manoj Swarigiyari, tried to identify women involved in evil and focused the vehicle used in carrying infants based on the statement Hospital staff and others are present outside the hospital when babies are transported in a vehicle.
“Around 9:30 a.m., the police team stormed a house of Tanu Mahto and found a baby there.
The two women accused of being arrested from there and the police also restored the clothes they were wearing during the abduction of the baby,” he said.
The woman who was arrested was first taken to the Rajanjij police station where senior police officials interrogated them.
“They claimed to commit a crime and said they did it because they wanted a son,” said Tirkey.
