Written by news2in

Mangaluru: Boomalikara Horata Samiti NH-169 demanded that fair compensation be given to those who handed over the land for four mangaluru-moodbidri-Karkawa Highway Highway Lanings.
President Samiti Mariamma Thomas told the media here on Friday, the government has made a notice to acquire land in the Sanoor, Beluvai, Padumarnad, Tenka Mijar, Badaga Edapadavu, Badavara, Mooduper, Kuduvail and Kuduu Village, for the widening of national highways.
“When the authorities have improved a low value for agricultural land, which will be obtained, more than 230 landowners have opposed the acquisition process from the High Court.
However, officials from the Indian National Highways Authority (NHAI) have not yet raised objections to the inap of orders in court, “He said.
“Officials failed to improve market value for land to be obtained.
Alignment for road work is changed for the benefit of influential people.
The landowner does not oppose the widening of the road.
We also have difficulty due to traffic jams on the road.
We want to stretch to be developed , but we need fair compensation for the land we lost, “he said.
He said that officials still did not know anything about the land that would be obtained for this purpose.
Furthermore, he explained about the lack of clarity regarding the GST collection in land acquisition.
“Because of the lack of understanding, 12% GST is collected from landowners during the compensation distribution.
What is the logic of GST collectors, when landowners lose their land for development?” He asked.
Referring to the statement which was made by Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, that more than 65% of the land had been obtained for the project, Samiti BRIJESH Shetty members said it was far from the truth, because more than 230 people who lost the land had brought to the acquisition land.
“Only 15% of converted land has been obtained so far,” he added.
