NITK: Faculty Startup Developing Anti-Drone Radar

Mangaluru: The first faculty Startup Nitk Suratkal has developed a prototype for the anti-drone radar system.
It can detect micro drones at a distance of up to 2,000 m.
Tech Startup-Sri Shasha Shoathi Limited – Incubated at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka Science and Technology Entrepreneurship (Nitk-Step), in February 2020.
Startup also developed a short distance radar system for various applications such as Battlefield Surveillance, up to 5,000 m.

Pathipati Srihari said that the technology startup operates and provides its services in the radar system domain, signal processing and target tracking.
Another system that is being developed is a radar system installed by drones for defense and civil applications.
Srihari said that this product has been shown for users, and is expected to be delivered as a finished product for interested companies and organizations.
This is a unique product, where imaging synthetic aperture can be done using the radar installed by this drone, and data can be transmitted wirelessly to the base station, he added.
Seeing the uniqueness of the product, Srihari said that this is available at affordable costs, and synchronous with Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
Startup will also participate in Indian defense Startup Challenge, and carry out various trainings, improve skills and internship programs for engineering students.
This is also part of the MathWorks accelerator and incubator program.
Nitk Suratshkal allows faculty startups in 2018.
