Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) does not leave the stone missed to keep residents by strengthening medical facilities within corporate limits given the possibility of the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
As part of an effort, NMC is ready to spend RS60.64 Lakh to prepare a generator for the oxygen system and air conditioning system in the trigger (pediatric intensive care unit) and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Jamnal Bajaj at Nagpur University where new administrative buildings.
The decision was taken on the advice of experts who told children, who were not vaccinated to date, could be affected in the midst of the third wave.
Civic administration has submitted a proposal before the permanent committee, which is scheduled to meet on December 28.
According to the proposal, prepared by the Ministry of Electricity, the NMC will spend RS32.52 Lakh to establish a generator for an oxygen plant installed on the university campus.
Likewise, he has proposed to spend RS28.12 lakh to install an air conditioning system in trigger and nicu.
It also urges the panel to allow the department to carry out both works by inviting short tender notifications.
NMC has taken over the new university administration building for the purpose and has set a 30 bed ICU, 20 nicu beds and 150 oxygen points.
