Nagpur: Even though the number of Daily Covid cases remains low, and no deaths that have been recorded in the past half a month, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) still has no plans to stop the institutional quarantine must be positive for patients from Hostel MLA, considering the upcoming winter session from the legislature.
Commissioner of the City of Ram Joshi said that while the decision to continue the CCC in MLA Hostel has not been taken, covid patients will be quarantined.
“We will ask the collector not to stop the CCC at MLA Hostel soon,” Joshi added.
MLA Hostel CCC is currently the only institutional quarantine center in the city.
At present, 12 patients were received there and his figure remained the same for the past month.
In the event that the NMC must empty it, the Civic body must start a new center in other facilities.
“We have VNIT hostels, Vanamati and College law.
But these places do not have facilities such as MLA Hostel, which is also in the city center,” Joshi said.
Extra city commissioners say that as long as it is worthy, the civil body will continue to place all new patients in institutional quarantine.
“This step has helped us maintain the spread of Covid-19 under control, better than other cities.
When people refuse to be quarantined at MLA Hostel, we ask them to be at least accepted at AIIMS Nagpur or Civic Hospital.
We also give They are the opportunity to be accepted at a private hospital, “he said.
Joshi added once again, the trend of more than one member of positive family testing was proven in everyday case.
“Recently, when the city records cases between eight and 10, two or three comes from the same family.
In these cases, when the patient was shifted to the CCC, even their neighbors were relieved,” he said.
The last month, TOI has reported that some private hospitals have restarted their Covid ward with limited beds after they got some acceptance questions.
As per the previous norm, hospitalization is not permitted for asymptomatic people, but NMC revised the norm.
