Nagpur: The economic wing of Wing (EOW) has been ordered and arrested responsible for the Health Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) of the Prashant Bhatkulkar Health Department for involvement in a fake fraud contract in the Nexus with the main defendant contractor ‘Kolba’ Sakdmakar, and tried to bury fraud.
Initially, Civic’s body official said Bhatkulkar had found and expressed fraud.
A team of EOW led by DCP Akshay Shinde and Pravin Kamble arrested Bhatkulkar 56 years ago and received PCR from the court until February 7 on Wednesday.
All violations were registered against Sakoda, his nephew Atul, three staff NMC Rajesh Meshram, Mohan Padwanshi and Ahamque Ahmed, have also been called against Bhatkulkar too, who is the sixth arrest in this case.
The fifth arrested earlier was in the MCR.
Bhatkulkar is the first NMC staff captured before the action was taken by NMC.
Previously, three staff were found involved in fraud being suspended by NMC before they were arrested.
An EOW official told TII, “We took a statement of several staff.
Sanjay Vaidya said Bhatkulkar realized all fake contracts by Sakode and even entered the material that had never been included in 41 false contracts.
Bhatkulkar also then hides the original enter registers, and places that It was only there, which was proven based on the Date of Registration issued from the relevant department.
“Retired Pension Officer and Account Officer Vijay Kolhe in his statement and also audio recordings handed over to the police said Bhatkulkar wanted to bury fraud.
“Kolhe and other staff said Bhatkulkar had a fake contract file with him since June 2021, but never revealed them to his superiors,” he said.
Toi is the first to report fraud on December 14.
NMC officials said Bhatkulkar found files from one fake contract submitted by Sakode in the Department of Account and Finance.
He warned Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Sanjay Chilkar.
Then, both of them told the additional city commissioner of Ram Joshi.
Then, Bhatkulkar managed to have a file for 41 fake contracts worth RS67 Lakh.
The letter compiled by Kolhe, which was reported by Toi on January 3, said the Ministry of Health officials first tried convincing him to recover the simplified money by Sakode and bury fraud.
“I refused, and said I would tell the civil heads about this case.
Then they left and revealed a fake contract to their superiors,” he said.
Bhatkulkar has been looking for voluntary pensions on October 1 last year but the administration did not approve it.
Bhatkulkar has reportedly done a commendable job during a covid pandemic.
EOW sources say more arrests are possible in this case.
“Further investigations will be based on statements by Bhatkulkar and some NMC staff,” they said.
Dr.
Chilkar has submitted a complaint to the police conscious on December 13, around 41 fake contracts worth RS67 Lakh.
Apart from the conscious police, EOW also investigated these contracts.
The NMC investigation then revealed 90 false contracts from the Ministry of Health (medical) and 128 fake contracts from four other departments – General Administration, solid waste management, libraries and the department of birth and death.
The total number of syphoned was calculated by the Committee of the NMC official investigation was RS5.41 Crore.
Until now, investigations have been carried out in payments disbursed by contractors from April 1, 2020 and so on.
With scam chances take place since 2015 or earlier, the investigation committee led by the party leader in power Avinash Thakre continued the investigation.
On Wednesday, the committee held a meeting and recorded a statement of several NMC officials.
