Nagpur: Taking knowing Tii’s report, the Committee of the Municipal Nagpur (NMC) corporation on Tuesday ordered a barricade contract investigation worth RS6 Crore.
The Committee continues to give approval to assess contracts even though this is one of the main gaps that lead to fake fraud contracts in civil bodies who lack money.
Toi has been on January 6 reporting that nine out of the ten NMC zones have contracted for rs6 crore worth 16 contracts without tenders between March and December 2020.
There are no provisions in Maharashtra Corporations (MMC) acting to provide non-tender contracts without tenders.
.
Barricading was carried out for the detention zone during the first wave of Pandemic Covid-19.
In such an emergency case, the civil head can get a job but after giving intimacy to the permanent committee and public body.
Former Mayor and MLC Pravin Datke have confirmed to Ti, there is no such intimacy given by the civil heads for these works.
The permanent committee led by Prakash Bhoyar has given approval to the administration to release payments to contractors in July.
The bill around RS2 Crore was released to the contractor.
Again, the proposal was put forward before the permanent committee as RS4 Crore released to the contractor was not provided in the emergency head.
The Department of Public Works (PWD) requests permission to release payments under other heads.
As reported to violations, Bhoar now ordered an investigation.
“The General Agency has made a decision to ask for a fraud of a fake contract through a committee under the party leader in power of Avinash Thakre.
The Committee will also conduct an investigation of barricade work,” he said.
The Committee will investigate whether the process to provide the contract is true or not.
The committee will also investigate the level and quantum of work that is claimed to have been carried out by officials.
Bhoyar also said the direction had been given to administration not to release the remaining payments to contractors to submitting reports by the request committee.
Asked why the committee led by him agreed to the same bill a few months ago, Bhoyar said the government said work was carried out without tendering because there was no time for the tender process, and the need was to start steps to contain the spread of the disease.
“There is no problem because RS4 Crore’s payment is waiting.
The Committee will ask all aspects and give a report,” he said.
Fake fraud contracts occur because of the level contract system that applies in NMC.
In this system, the level for certain materials and the contractor’s name is completed for two years.
Then, the department of place order and get material whenever they need.
This makes the opportunity for irregularities as happens to fake contract fraud.
However, the permanent committee on Tuesday approved a contract of interest rates for seven types of materials related to the control of malaria and filaria.
Bhoyar said, “I suggest the level contract system must be eliminated in NMC.
We must approve this proposal as malaria and the Filaia department say there is no stock, and the urgent need of these materials.” Ian * Covid-19 cases began in the city from March 2020 * NMC requires a detention zone made to contain the spread of * nine of the ten zones chosen by contractors and get barricades done * work is done on a rental base and related items.
