Nagpur: The road owned by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has developed a hole and civil body requires at least two weeks to repair 60,000 square feet bad streets throughout the city.
Now, NMC has been looking for assistance to repair Nagpur Trust (NIT) to repair roads that are equipped quickly.
“NMC will pay money for the job for the job,” said Commissioner of Radhakrishnan B to Ti.
“NMC will fix all the bad roads in the city before the end of November,” he said.
The city has around 3642.08 km road.
Apart from NMC, three other agencies – Nit, the State Public Works Department and India National Highway Authority – responsible for maintaining the road.
The NMC has a 2482.94KM road, NHAI is around 29.80 km in the city while Nit and PWD have 965,320 km and 148,02km, respectively.
The Hotmix NMC factory in Hingna MIDC is outdated and has a capacity of 30 tons per hour.
Batchmix Nit plants can work with a capacity of 80 to 100 tons per hour.
The source said that NMC brings roads to work at a cost of around RS100 Crore per year.
Because of the low capacity of the hotmix factory, NMC can do repair work for holes or asphalting only worth RS5 Crore.
The main work is being carried out through a private contractor.
Extended Monsoon has postponed repairs to work for 15 bad roads.
Superintending Engineer Ajay Pohekar said that the civil heads and committees were still led by Prakash Bhoyar had gave a nod to invite tenders for a birthday carpet 15 bad roads.
“The asphalt will take longer,” he said.
There is moisture under the road because of rain.
“If we bring asphalting work now, the road will die soon.
At least two weeks of dry day are needed before starting work,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari has organized a special public body meeting on October 13 on a proposal to redirect RS41.50 Crore in the NMC budget to provide additional fund sanctions.
Recently, the committee meeting has still provided a nod to re-register RS41.50 Crore to improve road conditions.
For this, funds have been deducted from 12 heads.
The box (with PIC) work repair begins: NMC NMC claims that the Laxmi Nagar zone on Friday repaired 16 holes, the Dharampeth Zone 24, while the Hanuman Nagar zone and their respective lakadganj.
