Jaipur: Traffic Police from Wednesday started a campaign without horns here to reduce sound pollution.
The additional commissioner (law and order) Rahul Prakash said that he was not Challan, the police would issue ‘Slip Pink’, set a compulsory counseling session in traffic police centers in Mansarover and Amba Bari.
“The campaign will begin with the intersection of OTS on Wednesday and will continue for three months.
Initially, we will not issue a Challan but the opposite will focus on being sensitive to people about the danger of honking,” he said.
This program will start at 1:00 p.m.
on Wednesday and a few days later it will be extended to eight spots and then to 15 traffic spots.
“According to that action, RS 1,000 Challan can be issued in a horn violation.
But we intend to ensure that more people become aware of the horn effect on commuting,” he said.
In addition to pink slip, posters without honking will be inserted on the perpetrator’s vehicle.
“Slip Pink will include compulsory counseling.
If the perpetrator fails to attend a counseling session, then we will issue Challan,” Prakash said.
The police said the horn had become a big threat on all arterial roads, especially at Jln Marg and Tonk Road.
The police have an OT intersection specifically intended to combat the problem.
“Because the awareness program takes place in the following months, the same campaign will be extended to another intersection too,” he said.
