Noida / Ghaziabad: Twenty-eight new Covid cases reported from Gautam Budh Nagar on Tuesday, the highest since June 7 when 34 registered cases.
So far in December, GB Nagar has added 141 cases, the most since July (156 cases).
At present, 82 is an active case and all patients are in the quarantine of the house, officials said.
While the surge in numbers coincides with a massive increase in infection in Delhi – 496 new cases and one death has been recorded in the last 24 hours, the Head of Dr.
Sunil Kumar Sharma medical officer connects it with increased covid testing.
“There is no doubt that the number of Covid cases has increased, but it is caused by an increase in the number of tests carried out throughout the district.
We follow the testing strategy, track, and recognize symptomatic patients to the hospital,” said Dr Sharma to Ti.
According to official data, an average of 3,500 tests are being carried out per day in all districts during the past week, which is at least 1,000 more than the number of tests conducted in previous days.
The peponyitivity level of the sample, meanwhile, has been recorded below 1%, officials said, adding that most patients were locals and had been tested positively during random sampling.
Ghaziabad, meanwhile, reported 10 fresh cases on Tuesday, including a 10-year-old child who recently returned from England, which was one of the ‘risky’ countries, and four family members.
Most patients complain of fever, cold and cough, while two asymptomatic.
Everything is in house isolation, officials said.
With new cases, the district has recorded 95 cases in December so far, which is the highest since July when 65 cases were reported.
There have been 16 times the increase in the number of cases from November, when only six cases were visible.
Health officials say the centers, where Covid tests are being carried out, will be known as “Mera KOVID Kendra” and their details are available in cellular applications with the same name.
At present, there are 42 centers operated in Ghaziabad and 12 in GB Nagar.
