Noida: The long-awaited process to connect the Sector 51 station where the AQUA line originated and the adjacent sector 52 station on the blue line Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was finally moved.
A 400 meter Footbridge (FOB), with an escalator on the entry and out, will join two stations so it’s easier for passengers to switch from one line to another.
At present, people must travel more than 700 meters by foot or depend on free e-rickshaws to travel between the intersection station.
It’s been a long time, commuters have demanded Skywalk or FOB for a smooth relationship between two stations.
On Thursday, officials said Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) had prepared around RS 20-Crore estimates for the proposed FOB which will be built on the Build-Operate-Transfer model (BOT).
FOB, officials added, most likely five meters and arranged within three months after the work order was issued for a body.
Authority also plans to provide advertising rights to the selected agent for seven years.
Residents of Sector 78 and members of the 7x sector welfare team, Brajesh Sharma, who have pursued this problem with the company, said: “FOB has been built for the Metro Sector 52 station but is not connected to the sector 51.
Station compounds.
As a result, commuters must go down from FOB and Walk to the blue line station.
Also, lots of rickshaws and ply vehicles on stretches, which make it too chaotic to reach the other side.
“Noida authorities have also built underpasses between two stations, but have narrowed the carrieGeway that leads to congestion near the FOB There during peak traffic hours, adding pedestrian and commuter misery.
In February, Ikea was awarded a 12.30 hectare plot next to the Metro Sector 51 station with the conditions for building a hallway to connect the station.
But the company shows that it may take six to seven years to build a skywalk to connect two stations.
“Demands to accelerate the relationship between two growing stations.
It is also expected to increase passengers at the Aqua Line Metro in the future.
Tender is expected to float on Friday,” Ritu Maheshwari, the Chief Executive NMRC, said.
A noida authority official said Skywalk would connect sectors 52 to 51 metro stations and also extended to the IKEA-cum-mall retail store.
“The type of tunnel structure with glass facades will be built by companies in the future to connect the station and its own mall.
We will lower the proposed FOB,” the officer added.
