Oslo: Norway will reintroduce national steps to stem the Coronavirus case, including authorization of cities to use health passes, the government announced on Friday.
The Nordic country, which raised all Covid-19 limitations in September, will also propose the third dose of vaccine for people over 18 years but will not impose a new Kuncian, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Shop told a press conference.
“The government wants to introduce new national steps to resist transmission,” he said.
“However, we don’t talk about imprisonment or strict steps like we see before in a pandemic.” New steps include requirements for adults who have contacted a positive case to be tested, and health workers who are not vaccinated must be tested twice a week and wear a mask.
Local restrictions have reappeared in the last few days in Norway, with everyday cases around 1,500 in the country of 5.4 million people.
Europe faces sharp setbacks in epidemic situations, especially in Germany and Central and Eastern Europe.
People who are not vaccinated are the most affected.
The World Health Organization has warned that Europe once again “epicenter” pandemic.
