Vadodara: In significant developments, the Gujarat government has issued an exhibition notification to Vice-Chancellor (VC) University (VC) Professor Parimal Vyas only the day before the incidence of VC ended.
The state government was studied to issue a notification to Vyas on Tuesday night looking for an explanation of alleged recruitment fraud that had shaken university last year.
Vyas has been asked to send the answer within 24 hours, the source said.
The development came when there was speculation that spread extensively about who would be the next VC from MSU considering the fact that two rival Safron camp had lobbied hard to get their men at the post.
Vyas serves the term both as MSU VC.
The three-year term ends on Thursday night.
Vyas confirmed that he had served a showcuse notification.
But he said that the letter was just about one promise – from the Vyas to the Joint Registrar Post.
“Because there is a query we are in the process of submitting a reply,” he said.
“As a VC, my office has no records related to the recruitment process.
Records remain in detention registrants.
