Guwahati: The famous author of Anuradha Sarma Pujari and Mwdai Gahai is among the 20 authors who will be awarded at the Sahitya Academic Award 2021.Pujari has been chosen for the honor of his novel, “Iyat Ekhon Aaronya Asil”, in Assam, while the gahai has been chosen for The poem collection, “Khoro Io Arw Himalay”, in Bodo.
The academy announced its annual award in 20 languages on Thursday.
Seven poetry books, short stories, criticisms, two novels, two dramas, biography, autobiography and epic won academy awards.
Award in the Gujarati category, Maithili, Manipuri and Urdu will be announced later.
The academy also announced Yuva Purascar Annual for 2021 in 22 languages.
Six short story books, nine poems, five novels and each essay and played award winning 2021 youth.
Abhijit Bora in Assam and Gautom Daimary in Bodo was chosen for the award for his book.
In short stories, “Deuka Kobai Jay”, and Daimary for poetry, “Jiu Gwnang Soho”.
Bal Sahitya Puraslas from the Academy for 2021 went to Mrinal Chandra Kalita and Ratneswar Narzary from Assam.
Kalita is noticed for its novel, “Bakul Phular Dare”, in Assamese, while narizary for his work, “Dikhura Soloba” (folklore) in Bodo.
The special function later, the recipient of the Sahitya Academy will each receive copper plaque engraved, scarf and examination of Rs 1 lakh.
Those who won Yuva Puraskar and Bal Puraskar will get engraved copper plaque and RS 50,000.Last examination, Apurba Kumar Saikia and Dharanidhar Owari late received the Sahitya Academy award.
While Saikia was awarded for her short story, “BENGSATA”, in Assam, Owari was awarded his work, “Gwthenay Lama, Gwdan Agan”, in Bodo.
