NU goes solar, to save Rs 72L per year, inauguration today

Nagpur: Administrative Building Jamnalal Bajaj Nagpur University has full powered and inauguration will be held on Thursday by Minister Guardian Nitin Raut at 11am.
The Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari will lead the temporary function of the Chancellor Chaudhari Chancellor, Pro-VC Sanjay Dudhe and Raju Hiwse registrar will share Dais.
The brain behind the entire project, Niranjan Deshkar, who is a member of the Management Board, told TII that the university would successfully save a large amount of RS72 lakh every year with this new initiative.
“This project will have the capacity to produce 500kW power and approved by the central and state government together with the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (Meda).
NU has spent RS6 Lakh in the installation, but it will save the same amount every month,” he said.
This project is regulated under the Meda (Resco) renewable energy service company where the company will take care of its repairs and maintenance and also installations.
“This scheme only applies to government departments or institutions.
The agreement is suppressed by NU with the company to produce a number of certain units.
The cost is only RS2.74 / unit against RS11.50 / unit for normal MSEDCL connections,” said Deshkar.
