Vadodara: Three days after the alleged illegal abortion video became viral in Mahisagar, the police arrested the nurse seen in the video.
The police tracked Kali Sangada, who worked for a private hospital, on Monday from a village in Santrampur Taluka.
Sangada has been sent for the Covid exam and he will be arrested if the results are negative.
“Sangada has been hiding after a video becomes a viral.
We accept a tip-off of its existence on Monday,” said P Bhoi, police inspector, the Santripampur police station.
Sangada denied having canceled the fetus woman seen in the video.
“He claimed that some women came to him with a young girl who wasn’t married a few years ago.
They said that the girl had freed a child at home but her womb needs to be cleaned.
Sangada said that they did not want to take her to the hospital because the girl would Facing shame in his community, “said Bhoi to Toi.” The women asked for Sangada to clean his womb and he agreed to do it at his residence.

Police complaints registered under medical cessation of pregnancy law on Saturday night by health officials.
Members of the Regency Women’s Commission also reached the place and demanded tight action against the culprit.
