Bhubaneswar: To increase the second dose coverage of the Covid vaccine, which has been very slow in the state, the Ministry of Health has prepared a list of recipients who will receive the last jab.
This list has been prepared at the micro level in the villages.
According to the strategy, the list of second dose recipients has been shared with Asha workers.
They will mobilize people, who have taken the first shot and will receive the last.
Although recurring reminders, the state has so far been managed by the Covid final vaccine to 109,24,824 people from 3.20 Crore receivers.
Bijay Panigrahi, Director, family welfare say vaccination for the final dose has been slow because people are not serious because infections have decreased substantially.
“We have tried our best to mobilize people to take vaccines by sending messages.
In the villages, we created a cluster involving two to three villages for joint vaccination.
Previously, we only had a primary health center for that purpose.
But it still drives ‘T reaches the desired level, “Panigrahi said.
In terms of giving the second dose, Boudh and Deogarh are only districts with less than one lakh who took second jab even though the number of people, who had taken the first dose in both districts was outside two lakh.
Ganjam district tops in terms of final dose recipients (16.23 lakh) while Khurda has given 14.69 lakh with the last shot.
