Bhubaneswar: Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced the establishment of a friendly police station each in 34 police regencies in Odisha.
The broader goal of this initiative is to make children under the age more comfortable when filing a complaint with the police without fear.

Naveen said the atmosphere proposed by a child-friendly police station would be completely different from the normal.
The child-friendly police station will have certain logos and signage.
The rooms will have children’s friendly decor, cartoon wall paintings, libraries, toys, first aid kits, beds and furniture to provide a pleasant and quiet atmosphere for children.
“Such steps aim to facilitate fear and mental pressure of children who visit the police station, seek justice.
Children will get books and newspapers.

Police officers will educate and advise children about legal provisions from adolescent justice (child care and protection) laws, protection of children from sexual laws (Pocso), Moral Trade Act (Prevention), Child Labor ( Prohibitions and regulations) Law and Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.
“We welcome his decision.
Every child will be afraid to visit the police station to tell their trials and give their statements.
Children’s friendly atmosphere and careers will destroy the fear of underage children,” said Campaigner son of Sangeeta Mohanty.
Must note former Gajapati SP Sarah Sharma and Cumbent Sundargarh Sag Sagarika Nath previously initiated child-friendly facilities at several police stations in two districts.
In February 2019, Sharma began a child-friendly police system at the Parallakhemundi police station by painting cartoons, animals, trees, and fruits on the wall of the room to make children feel right at home.
In February this year, Nath converted rooms at the Rajgangpur police station to Ananda Ghar (Happy Home) with several children’s friendly facilities.
Ananda Ghar has walls, toys, and good-decorated books for children.
