Bhubaneswar: Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnaik on Thursday asked the district collectors to come into regularly with organizations run by charity missionaries, a philanthropic organization based in Kolkata, which was founded by Mother Teresa.
Naveen also directed the regents to ensure that there were no prisoners of these organizations, especially from food security and health troubles.
“Everywhere it is needed, the funds from the Minister of Public Chief Assistance (CMRF) can be used for this purpose,” said Minister of Chief.
The state government movement was assumed that the significance when charity missionaries recently asked for all the centers not to operate one of the foreign contribution accounts (FC) as an action to ensure that there was no hose.
The move was followed when the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) recently refused to approve the renewal of regulation of foreign contributions (FCRA) on charity missionaries which quoted them did not fulfill the conditions of feasibility.
Kolkata-based organizations that have arrived in Odisha in 1974 are running as many as 13 centers for patients who are sick, scratched, elderly, leprosy, mental disabilities and orphans.
These include three each at Khurda and Kandhamal, two in Sundargarh, each at Ganjam, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, Ladydom and Craft.
Nearly one 1,000 marginalized and underprivileged prisoners including children are part of these organizations.
There are four to five other small centers in other districts, official sources said.
The district administration has also prepared after the direction of the minister’s chairman to expand to help these organizations.
“We have immediately cheered and supplied rations and items needed daily at least for the next 15 days.
The official block of the block (BDO) has been asked to visit these organizations regularly to understand their problems.
Whatever they help need until their account is restored, we will continue to help them, “said Khurda District Collector Sangram Mohapatra.
