Asked: A social activist donated his mother’s eyes and body to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here after his death on Tuesday for the purpose of the study.
G Tarimi (67) body, Bunda Abani style, Manabika President Adhikar Surakhya Manchya, an organization that sought to develop health care facilities in South Odisha, was handed over to the Authority of Medical College.
“Donations will greatly help students for their studies and research goals because the department does not have an adequate number of corpses,” said J Sagar Prusty, Head of the Anatomy Department.
“The body has been dibalsem to protect it from decomposition,” he said.
“Even though he did not promise to donate his body before his death, but we did it for the interests of students and researchers.
His eyes would also provide a sight for at least two visual disabled people,” Abani said.
It was the second donation made for medical colleges in a month and ninth in the past eight years.
