Bhubaneswar: Edisha’s Biju Patnaik State South Academy (BPSPA) has won the UNI home ministry trophy for the best police training institutions at the national level in the category of officers issued for 2020-21.
BPSPA will get RS 20 Lakh Grant in assistance from the National Recognition Center.
“Recognition encourages us to seek further excellence.
Over the past few years, many qualitative improvements have been brought in police training,” said Arun Sarangi, Additional DG and Director of BPSPA.
This award was given in three categories of central police organizations, state police organizations at the national level and state police organizations at the zonal level.
Previously, BPSPA had won zonal level trophies in the East Zone for 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.
Established in 2005, BPSPA is the Premier Police Training Institute in Odisha.
It offers a basic training course for a long duration to officers, sub-supervisors, sergeant, and representatives of the Odisha Police Directly recruiting, and deputy officers in six batches, more than 3200 sub-inspectors, sergeant and subordin representatives in 24 batches.
The institution also provides training to the ASI police, in addition to excise officers, Daba forests and prisons, rtments of the state and central excise from the center.
It also conducts training programs in service to serve police officers.
