Bhubaneswar: After a pause of tourism due to Covid-19 pandemic, the State Tourism Department has decided to launch the three new festivals this year in an effort to bring back visitors to the country.
The plan to organize the Online Oditsi Music Festival, the Hirakud Festival in Sambalpur and other events in Coraput Regency are on the runway.
“We don’t want to limit our activities to the Golden Triangle (Puri-Konark-Bhubaneswar).
We will spread to new locations in South and North Odisha for Woo tourists.
The schedule of the new upcoming three festivals will be resolved in a month,” said Director of Tourism Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav to Tii.
The department will hold a music festival for ODIccan applications through this year’s virtual platform.
From next year and so on, it will be held in a prominent location in the state.
The plan is also happening for the Festival in the Mayurb District next year.
The state government in 2018 plans to launch the Hirakud Festival near the Hirakud reservoir in Sambalpur.
But it couldn’t be executed at that time.
The department has decided to set up an annual ECO retreat glamm festival in seven locations from five years ago.
Two new locations were at the foot of Deomalia in Coraput and Pationapur in Ganjam Regency.
Five other locations are Badmul (Satkosia), Normapatia (Bhitaranya), Daringibala, Hirakud and Konark-Ramchandi.
Tourists can also get a piece of trailer tourism in the state with Camping van which adds to the excitement of their trip and gives them the convenience of hotel-on-wheels.
