Bhubaneswar: Chaos, confusion and commotion apply at the iconic Sun Temple in Konark on Tuesday.
Thousands of visitors gave rise to Konark Sun temple after the computerized ticket system at the entrance to popular tourist sites faced technical errors on Tuesday.
Indian Archaeological Survey (ASI), Custodian of the main tourist attraction of the country, said the large crowd and inadequate security arrangements by police caused such chaos.
The source said, thousands of tourists were in the queue to get a ticket to the iconic heritage site on Tuesday.
But because some ticket technical obstacles cannot be removed.
Loss of their patience because of the delay in the Igat gem by forcibly entering the Sun Temple building encouraged security personnel and breastfeeding staff.
Many tourists look jump over the boundary wall and break through the security bar to enter the premise of the sun temple.
“Technical glitch can occur anytime in the machine.
We face this technical problem for the first time since the e-ticketing system starts at Konark Sun Temple.
But there are several other ways to make tickets but there are so many crowds that go berserk before steps can be taken To manage it, “said Arun Malik, ASI archaeologist supervisor, Bhubaneswar.
On Tuesday more than 10,000 visitors packed the tourist location because the queue was more than two km long.
The computerized ticket system server broke around 10:15 a.m., keeping people waiting about an hour.
Malik said, the police at the entrance was bad compared to the big crowd.
“The law and order on the site is managed by the police and the local administration.
We have very limited staff to manage the crowd.
I have talked to the police and local government to improve security settings in locations so that things like that will not happen again in the future , “he added.
Tourists from all countries also expressed disappointment over the crowd management system in one of the most popular tourist locations in the state.
“Sun temple in Konark is no doubt is the most visited tourist site of Odisha.
If this is a type of management and facilities at the top of the tourist season, how can the country claim to provide the best tourism experience to tourists?” Sutapa Sengupta said, a tourist from Bengal West.
