Thiruvananthapuram: Bureau officials who are alert and anti-corruption here on Wednesday arrest government information staff and the Public Relations Department (I & PRD) while accepting bribes of Rs 25,000.
G Vinod Kumar, who works as an audio-video officer under I & PRD was red by the VACB official while accepting bribes sitting in a car parked next to the medical road.
According to VACB officials, Vinod Kumar is responsible for the online radio program of the state government.
He was arrested on the basis of complaints submitted by Ratheesh, the owner of Mega, a city-based production house that produced audio visual content for PRD.
In accordance with the complaint, the Department owes MA-Mega RS 21 Lakh in connection with the various projects they produce for the government.
But, Vinod Kumar demanded 15% of this number, namely Rs 3.75 Lakh, to remove the bill.
Rathesh then approached VACB with complaints.
They called Vinod Kumar to a medical college on Wednesday around 3pm promising to pay Rs 25,000 as the first installment and he was detained when he appeared and received the money.
