T’puram: After a bad response to the tender floating by KSEB for rehabilitation projects and increasing dam, the government-managed power utility has decided to revise soft norms and scouts to carry out competent tasks.
KSEB decided to take advantage of retired executive engineer services for the smooth implementation of work intended to increase the agility and efficiency of hydro-electric dam and improve the mechanism of monitoring of dams.
In 2012, the Union Government introduced a rehabilitation and improvement of dam (dripping) with the help of the World Bank.
In 2014, the Board decided to implement the project with an estimated cost of $ 25.41 million.
However, when the tender to set instrumentation on 36 dams was invited in 2019, the council received a very bad response.
It only received two offers and technical offers from the bidder found unresponsive during technical evaluation.
After this, the tender was canceled, with the approval of the Central Air Commission Central Project Monitoring Unit (CWC) to shoulder work with revised norms.
The Board decided to use the retired service executive engineer Aloushy Paul C, which was associated with supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of real-time structural health monitoring and early warning systems in the idukki dam.
The Board decided to use Aloushy services as a technical expert for evaluation of offers and to provide technical advice during the implementation of the instrumentation system and supervision in the dam.
