Coimbatore: The day after three private school students were killed in the collapse of the wall in Tirunelveli, the education officer of the Head of District N Geetha on Saturday said the process to identify weak school buildings in the region would begin on Monday.
After the tragic incident, the state government has directed the school education department to ensure the safety of school children.
The officer said the principal had begun sending a picture of a school building as documentary evidence about their condition.
According to Geetha, all schools and schools assisted will be checked in the next few days to identify weak buildings that are not suitable for use.
Officials of the Senior School Education Department said they had identified 550 class buildings and weak toilets in government and schools assisted in September this year.
The official said the annual fund allocation made by the state government for the recovery / construction of new buildings and toilets in school was not enough.
