New Delhi: The names of several Indian entrepreneurs, celebrities, and politicians have been disclosed in leakage of unprecedented financial documents known as “Pandora Papers”.
As many as 380 Indians are in the list of global elites that have been exposed to alleviate their wealth through shadow financial transactions and use offshore taxes to hide assets worth of millions of dollars worth.
“Treasure Trou” of nearly 11.9 million secret files has been obtained by a network of reporter and global publication houses called international consortium journalist investigations (ICIJ).
A total of 600 journalists from 150 news organizations featured documents for two years to come up with findings.
The leading Indian in Pandora Papersthe Icij and his partners in India, Indian Express, mentioned the names of famous Indians such as the Kricket Sachin Tendulkar icon, Anil Ambani Entrepreneur, Sister Diamantaire Nirav Modi and Biocon’s husband.
The document shows that Tendulkar, along with family members, has offshore entities in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) which is liquidated in 2016 shortly after leaking from a series of financial documents called Panama Papers.
