Hyderabad: The variant of a concern, Omicron, now has three siblings – one of the two sub-lineages found last week.
According to the Filogenetic Assignment of the Global Lineage outbreak (Pangolin) which gave the lineage under the ‘Pango Lineage’ system to various viruses including the Coronavirus novel which caused Covid-19, the third outlier of Omicron was found from the samples collected from the UK on December 3.
The new outlier of the Omicron variant is temporarily named Britain / Milk-2D24AC9 / 2021.

Vinod Scaria from the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), New Delhi, confirmed the development by tweeting on Sunday about new outliers omicron negligence with some mutations together.
Omicron variant or b.1.1.529 is divided into two sub-lineage ba.1 and BA.2 earlier this month.
These two variants have several mutations together, besides some unique mutations for them.
“The newly diverse genome has appeared in the lineage B.1.1.529 which has all mutations with B.1.1.529, some unique mutations for BA.1 and some unique to BA.2 plus some of themselves,” Pangolin announced on its website .
This adds it looks like the new Omicron outlier is an additional circulating member of B.1.1.529 diversity and recombination has occurred in its history.
He also said it “may mutate before the emergence of clade BA.1 based on a mutation pattern.” It is said, “as a genome does not require the appointment of the lineage and currently will be classified as an Omicron member”.
Experts say although Omicron has spread faster than the previous variant, most cases are mild.
