Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has improved the online trading license update system, based on feedback from traders in the city, said Mayor Premanand Shetty.
City Corporation has introduced an online trading license application or update application on 2021-22, he said.
“Corporations have developed new applications through the keonik, to overcome the inconvenience faced by traders.
This new application allows traders to file a trade license, or update it by paying fees through NetBanking and credit or debit networks.
Initially, there were some problems because of which traders must visit City Corporation, even after paying online fees.
With new applications, traders do not need to visit the Corporation City office, and temporary trade licenses will be generated for the Petitioner in a few minutes, and the original will be issued in 30 days, “said Mayor to the media on the day Tuesday.
Nearly 14,000 trade licenses have been issued or updated on 2021-22, using the application.
From 2022-23, traders will get an SMS alert to their registered telephone numbers with a link, and detailed payment for updating trade licenses.
The traders can enter www.mcctradelicence.com to track their application status, he said.
Commissioner MCC Akshy Sridhar said that the MCC team will visit shops and companies in the city, to verify trade licenses.
“Actions will be taken against those who have not renewed their trade license.
A penalty will be collected if the merchant has not revealed the actual measurement of their plaid area, while applying for a license,” he added.
