Pune: Only 0.25% of people who consume both doses of Covid-19 vaccine contracted by infection in the district so far, strengthens the significance of gaining vaccination against the disease and follows the protocol, including wearing masks and maintaining social distance.
A report from the district health office stated that around 12,031 of 46 lakh people who were fully vaccinated with Covid-19 in Pune District until now.
According to him, with a total of 7,231 people contracted infection after getting a dose within the limit of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), followed by 3,217 in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area and 1,583 in Pune Rural.
The report revealed that around 15,964 people contracted Covid-19 infection after taking the first dose of covishield or covaxin.
The amount, according to officials, is very small (0.19%) because more than 79.87 the first dose has been given so far.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Pune Circle, told TII, “If someone contracted an infection even after vaccination, it was called a breakthrough infection.
