Mysuru: The family of two victims of the accident on the road including a 66-year-old retired police retired person encouraged to the Apollo Hospital in a critical condition, has contributed the organs he loved after knowing their survival is not possible because of their medical conditions.
The Heart and Cornea Chari Nagaraj, retired police, harvested and transplanted in Mysuru while hearts, heart valves, and Kornea Raghu Other patients are transplanted at MySuru and Bengaluru Hospital.
Heart valves were sent to Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bengaluru, while his heart was transplanted at Apollo Hospital in MySuru.
Bhartheesha Reddy, VP and the Head of the Apollo BGS Hospital, said the Apollo Hospital had transplanted 35 organs by 2021 including two rare simultaneous kidney transplants and pancreatic transplants.
Dr.
Rajkumar P Wadhwa, Head of Transplant Institution, Apollo Hospital, stated that so far 290 organ transplants have been carried out at Apollo Hospital with the highest success rate.
