Mangaluru: Dr.
Belle Monappa Hegde, 83, known as Dr.
B B, cardiologists, medical professors, scientists and writers were given to Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award of India, by President of RAM Nath Kovind on Tuesday.
He was chosen for awards under the medical category, provided for exceptional and respectable services.
Known most as ‘People’s Doctor,’ Dr.
Hegde is a doctor with a human approach, which emphasizes holistic drugs, and provides an emphasis on the use of minimum drugs.
He lives in Chilimbi Gudde.
Hegde was a former representative of Chancellor of Manipal University, and was respected with Padma Bhushan in 2010.
He was also the recipient of Dr.
BC Roy Award in 1999.
Dr.
Hegde learned to SSLC in Hiriyadka in Udupi, and then finished the middle of MGM College, Udupi.
He completed his MBBS from Stanley Medical College, Madras, in 1960.
He received a gold medal from Madras University for MBBS.
Dr.
Hegde, who is the Dean of the Casturba Medical College here from July 13,1992, served as Deputy Chancellor of the College of Manipal Higher Education (Demed University) from June 18, 1999 to August 30, 2003.
Recipient of Karnataka Rajyotsava Award in 1997, he wrote ‘what doctors It cannot be studied in the Book of the Medical School Board, ‘a book that provides part of an important and formative reading of a medical student must be outside the requirements specified for the title.
