Islamabad: At least one dead and 17 people suffered a bullet injury on New Year’s Eve during the “celebration shot” in Karachi Pakistan, local media reported on Saturday.
Karachi echoed with shots and fireworks on Friday night, although there was a limit to shoot celebrations, Geo News reported.
Although the authorities have warned efforts to murder offenders, the number of victims this time higher than the previous year, when only four individuals were injured in the metropolis, Pakistani publication said.
Citing a hospital report, Geo News reported that a total of 18 people were rushed to hospital after being shocked by wild shots.
A 11-year-old boy gave up on his injury while undergoing treatment at Khwaja Ajmer Nagar, police said.
Six was transferred to the medical center of Jinnah postgraduate at Korangi, four to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, three to a civil hospital, and two people at the Sindh Government Hospital.
Iqra, a 10-year-old girl who was shot and injured by a stray bullet near Kohistan Chowk in North Nazimabad, was between injured.
Haris, 14, was shot near the Ghaas shower area in the Napier area, Geo News reported.
Asmatullah suffered an injury in Jamarabad, Farooq suffered an injury at Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Ali Akbar suffered a sustainable injury in the city of Baldia, and Rehan was injured in Malir.
Meanwhile, another incident occurred in various locations in all cities, including Azizabad, Ranchore Lane, Mandir Teacher, Kala Pull, Saddar, Baldia, Liaquatabad, Korangi, Landhi, and Malir, Pakistani publication said.
According to the police, cases have been registered with complaints of air shootings, and arrests tend to be around Karachi on New Year’s Eve for air shootings, Geo News reports.
