Letter: Towards Uttarayan, the pandemic has come out of the kite and spoiled screen.
For the second year in a row, their business in lethargic thanks to the price soaring raw materials such as threads, bamboo and paper that even leaves the lowest kite fans.

Also increasing the number of Covid cases and new restrictions including night hours add to our concerns,” Prakash Sadadiwala, a spoiled maker, told Toi.
“The curfew also has an impact on orders from other cities too.
We only restart our business now for this season and once again the Covid situation began to deteriorate,” Sadadiwala added.
The Jayesh Mistry family has run a kite and spoiled business for decades now.
“Auction of kites and spoiled used to take place at the main kite market Rander, Bhagal and Dabgarwad, a few nights before the Uttarayan festival.
But this year it won’t happen because of the curfew,” said Mistry.
Firoz Sheikh, a kite manufacturer said that kite-kite businessmen and spoiled expect the government to provide assistance at night before the festival.
“We really followed Covid guidelines such as social distance, use of masks and cleaners in our shops,” he added.
