Ranchi: Variations of rice plants, developed by Birsa Agriculture University (Bau) Vice-Chancellor Onkar Nath Singh, are displayed among 35 enhanced plant varieties released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to overcome the ventilation of climate change and improve agricultural output.
Bau, Jharkhand Lone and Premier Agricultural University, on Wednesday said various rice plants, CR Dhan-201, were included in the list of 35.
“It was developed by the Deputy Chancellor Bau when he was the main scientist-cum-head of the Trimmer Increase Division, Icar National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, “University said in a statement.
This added, “The variety was released by the release committee of the Central Variety of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Welfare of Farmers, the Government of Indonesia, in 2014, especially for Chhattisgarh and Bihar.

CR-DHAN 201 also requires less water compared to other plants.
For example, if other rice plants need around 5,000 liters of water for the production of one kilogram of rice, this variety requires half the amount.
This is perfect for Jharkhand too.
