Panaji: The state government spends more than RS 13 Lakh to buy 5,000 hats and t-shirts for color coordination schemes in the screen parade attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the day of release in Miramar.
The cabinet on Wednesday granted ex-post facto approval for expenses.
As part of the liberation day celebration, the government has organized the screen parade.
Among those present, there are around 5,000 schools and college students.
“To have a colors coordinated scheme among the participants, the government has directed to regulate the same 5,000 t-shirts and the same number of lids,” the cabinet was revealed.
In a meeting held by the Head of the Pramod Sawant Minister on December 16, 2021, directed at ensuring the availability of closes and jerseys to the participants.
Goa Sports Authority (SAG) is given the task of getting the same.
Cabinet notes further revealed that because of the limited time and urgency to get the same, the spot quote was invited by the sag of three agents namely Champs, Angleys and poor.
“The lowest quote is by Champs, Panaji, amounting to Rs 13.5 Lakh, including GST.
The Agency provides goods on December 19, 2021,” said Cabinet Note.
In accordance with the cabinet record, the Information and Publicity Department is the Nodal Department to organize celebrations.
It can be noted that the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs did not have a separate budget head to issue such expenses and ordered under the Information and Publicity Department.
