Mysuru: Five weeks after the state government lifts the lock in the MySore district, air traffic is increasing.
Towards the Dasara season, it is expected to increase, the authorities state.
In June, around 2,988 passengers have used Mysuru Airport.
Meanwhile, the cancellation of direct aviation to Chennai affected many passengers.
New direct flight services by private airlines to Chennai are expected to start from Friday.
According to data, in June 2021, a total of 2,988 passengers using this airport are located in Mandakalli on Jalan Mysuru-Nanjangud.
In June 2020, this number is 3,158.
However, in three months between April-June, the number of passengers grew with several folds.
Between April-June 2020, a total of 3,647 passengers have used the airport.
However, this figure was 14,220 in the period between April-June 2021.
This trend was reflected even in the aircraft movement.
In June 2020, the airport has recorded 330 aircraft.
However, in June 2021, only 224 airports were operated from city airports.
Now flights are operated to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Goa, and Cochin from the airport.
“Chennai is one of the popular routes.
Cancellation of flight directly affects passengers,” said B S Prashanth, Mysuru’s travel association president.
However, after locking, the burden of passengers at the airport increased substantially on all major routes.
Director of Airport R Manjunath told that on all routes, 50% to 60% of the passenger load was being reported.
“Now the passenger movement has taken,” he said.
