Patiala: The 27-year-old Gurpreet Family of Singh from Patiala, who was injured during participation in the farmers’ protest, had run from the pillar to the post to get assistance for the costs incurred and also demanded government work.
The family claimed to have spent 14 Lakh Rs on his maintenance but still Gurpeet couldn’t talk and walk properly.
However, he underwent physiotherapy treatment to get functional part of his right body correctly.
While protesting in supporting farmer agitation of three agricultural laws, Gurpeet with other people standing on the side of the road in the distance from the traffic lights near Thapar College in Patiala when a driving car from an excise inspector crashed into demonstrators.
The incident left three dead and three others including Gurpreet Singh injured.
Gurpeet said he had faced several fractures and brain injuries in the incident and had undergone various operations.
Manceveen Kaur, who used to protest with Gurpreet Singh, as a routine, said, “Usually with other protesters including Gurpreet Singh we used to stand near Thapar College in supporting farmers but on the day I was not present as I had some work at home.
His father day Singh is a security supervisor at a private engineering college while Gurpreet is an employee and is used to participate in protests to support farmers’ agitation of three laws.
He cannot speak when his body’s right side has also changed paralyzed.
Regardless of permanent disability, The Gurpeet family cannot get enough support for its maintenance of government or district government.
