Patna: The three-month-old boy died allegedly after receiving the BCG vaccine, which was granted to prevent children’s tuberculosis, at an AngryWadi Center in Balipankad Village in Paliganj, Patna, on Friday.
Family members of the child have blamed ANM the center of the incident.
They said the condition of the child deteriorated after vaccination and he was declared dead at the Paliganj sub-division hospital.
According to sources, babies, the son of one Kumar Sunny from Balipankad Village, a BCG vaccine was given in the health camp at the Angganwadi Center.
After the health condition of the child deteriorated, Anm Rekha Kumari, who had given a vaccine, told the doctors in Paliganj Sdh about it by telephone.
The family member first consulted with a local health practitioner and then took the child to Paliganj Sdh.
Drha Kumari, Deputy Superintendent SDH-Paliganj, said a team consisting of two hospital doctors, WHO members and India Care had been formed to investigate this problem.
“At least 10 babies are given a BCG vaccine at the center of Angganwadi.
Nine other children have not developed any complications,” he added.
Dr.
Kumari said the vaccine given to children was not expired.
“It seems like the child suffers from other health problems.
We have begun investigating the incident,” he added.
