Patna: A widow of Septuagenarian and his 10-year-old son of adoption allegedly burned to death by their relatives for property disputes in Karnpura Village under the Naubatpur police station in West Patna on Thursday.
Police said the woman killed, Shanti Devi, had a non-moving property worth Rs 2 Crore.
The son’s adoption son was identified as Amrendra Kumar.
The burned body from the duo was found in the room in their home around 8am.
The villagers then dragged the nephew of Shanti Madhuri Devi (45) and her daughter Sudha Kumari (21), the major suspects in this case, from their father’s house located near Shanti’s house and struggle.
Shanti Lal Das and Madhuri’s father Lal Bahadur is brother.
The police rushed to the village after getting information and saving the two women from the death penalty.
They were then arrested.
The villagers said Madhuri had taken a fight with Shanti on Wednesday night.
A village resident raised an alarm after feeling a foul smell from Shanti’s house on Thursday morning.
Sho of Naubatpur Police Office Samrat Deepak Kumar said Madhuri and Sudha were arrested.
“Police interrogated them.
Two sons of Madhuri Sonu and Sunny and her husband Ravindra Kumar, a police officer at Bihar Police, was avoiding the arrest,” he said, adding Sonu last seen in the village on Wednesday night.
“Shanti has a land of 3-kattha worth Rs 2 Crore along Jalan Bihta-Sarmera and Kanhauli.
Madhuri observes his property,” Sho said.
Kumar added Madhuri, who lived in Taregana, came to his father’s house in Karnpura Village two days ago.
