Kolkata: Some private hospitals in Kolkata prepare to add facilities in their pediatric environment and train their doctors and nurses to get bursts suddenly in the reception of Covid Pediatric, which is feared during the upcoming third wave.

The state has added children’s wards in various government hospitals and conducting training programs for health workers.
Superspecialty Medica Hospital has trained a team of doctors and nurses to attend Covid Pediatric patients.
“We have increased the number of children’s beds to 50.
If necessary, we will convert more beds and integrate them into the environment,” said Medica Chairson Alok Roy.
He added that in addition to health workers, employees at all levels have been trained to attend the children affected by Covid.
Peerless Hospital is ready with pediatric consumables and has purchased three children’s ventilators, other than tubes and masks.
“We don’t have children affected by Covid now but have one week ago.
In fact, out of the 18 beds of our child, six are now occupied while the eight beds are empty.

Peerless now has 22 adult covid patients in the 40-bed covid ward.
Treatment of comprehensive pediatric and neonatal treatment with 35 general pediatric ward beds, 24 trigger and 6 NICU beds have been planned at the RN Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences (RTIICS).
According to Zonal R Venkatesh, it will have adequate pediatric and neonatal ventilators.
“Pediatric consultants and nurses who are trained to deal with patients like that are also there.
Because there are no Covid pediatric patients now, we have not activated the same thing and use it for non-covid pediatric care,” added Venkatesh.
At present, RTIICs have 21 adult covid patients with eight in critical care.
Amri Hospitals has made a pediatric-covid panel of six members.
“We are compiling SOP for Covid Pediatric care,” said CEO of Rupak Barua.
Bhagirathi Neotia Women & Child Care Center plans to activate 50 bed units on the new city campus.
“If necessary, we will use the facilities in Rawdon Street,” said Director of Healthcare Neotia, PL Mehta.
