Ranchi: Even when the festive spirit of Grips Ranchies with the beginning of Durga Puja, Covid safety norms, including social distance and wearing masks, most of them are still ignored by a large number of people visiting Pandal and Temple on Tuesday.

Pradip Babu from Durga Badi Puja Samiti said, “The worshipers came to our pandal to worship God despite less than the pre-covid period.” In particular, around 200 pandals have been established in the city this year.
Among the stand out is the Pandal train station, RR Sporting Club Pandal in Ratu Road, Bakri Bazaar Pandal, Durga Badi Pandal, OCC Club Pandal near Bada Talab, Choke Pandal and Chandrashekhar Azad Pandal on Jalan Mahatma Gandhi.
In accordance with the direction of the government, the Puja Committee has installed barricades around the pandal to allow god worship from a distance.
The committee has also arranged sanitisers and masks in their place in addition to attracting worshipers to maintain social distance.
Asok Purohit from Bakri Bazaar Panja Pandal said the crowd was twice this year at night.
He added that their number would increase in the coming days.
Apart from administrative and committees, a large group of worshipers violated safety norms.
For example, the people who attended the Panja Pandal train station were seen taking selfies without a mask.
Expressing the inability to ensure social distance among worshipers, Purohit said, “Committee members cannot use the power to ensure social distance among worshipers, especially when the number is very large.” Alok Dubey, who is a member of the Organizing Pandal near Nepal House, said the committee members often made announcements through loudspeakers to maintain social breaks and use masks.
“Mostly, we can appeal to worshipers to follow safety norms,” ​​he added.
