Vadodara: Director of Bits Pilani and the leading alumni of the University of M, Prof.
Sudhirumar Barai on Wednesday urged a gold medalist to play an active role in their alma mater rejuvenation.
Barai, who performed undergraduate and his master in the field of structural engineering from MSU, was the main guest in ‘We are proud of you’ – a program organized by the University for the gold medalist in Sir Ijirao Nagargruh in Akota.
This for the first time this program was held as an annual posting convocation ceremony instead of the pre-meeting ceremony held at the night of the convocation ceremony in ‘Dhanvantri’ – the official residence of the Deputy Chancellor of MSU.
While praising Maharaja’s efforts Ijirao Gaekwad III, the ruler of Barada, Barai said that it was because of his vision that a strong foundation for the Institute of Education such as MSU was placed in Vadodara.
“Mention all domains – Arts, Science, Technology or Engineering – University alumni have contributed significantly in their field.
There are Padma Recipients, the Nobel Winner produced by this university.
You will benefit from the MSU brand,” he said.
He also made a gold medal winner take a promise that they would support education at least one student as ‘Gupt Daan’.
The university has organized its annual convocation ceremony on the virtual platform in April due to the pandemic and restrictions induced by Covid-19.
A total of 184 students were awarded 285 gold medals during the 69th annual meeting.
Of the total gold medals, 181 was awarded to female students, while 104 was awarded male students.
